Not all cannabinoids are present in large amounts in every strain – or cultivar – or in the products manufactured from cannabis or hemp plants. The more abundant cannabinoids are considered major cannabinoids while the less abundant cannabinoids are called minor cannabinoids.

Selecting quality cannabis products takes some time and careful consideration. Knowing what is in the products you choose is important. Knowing how much of each of those ingredients or components is in a product - not just the amount but also the ratio of one key ingredient to another - is also key to anticipating the potential effects that product may produce.
The cannabis plant is rich with a variety of chemical elements including phytocannabinoids or “cannabinoids,” terpenes, and flavonoids. In fact, the plant is said to have over 400 distinct compounds. Scientists have been examining the interactions of these elements and how those interactions could produce particular effects.
Did you know you have an Endocannabinoid System? An endo-what, you ask?
Your Endocannabinoid System or ECS consists of a network of molecules called endocannabinoids, proteins, enzymes and receptors identified by scientists in the late 1980s and early 1990s. These receptors, cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1) and cannabinoid receptor type 2 (CB2), are present throughout your body and brain and are affected by molecules found in your body that make up part of your ECS called endocannabinoids.
