It’s hard to find the words to express the heartbreak we feel about the violence permeating our society. As a company, we have made it our mission to improve the health and happiness of our communities through our work. But we cannot simply treat the body without also treating social detriments that harm one’s health. A person cannot live a healthy life if their safety and freedom are threatened by racial and economic inequality.
The systemic racism, social injustice, and violence must end now. Our community has a right to express ourselves through protests and we believe that every voice deserves to be heard.
One important place we speak our truth is the voting booth. For years, Care By Design has partnered with the non-profit, Headcount, to promote democracy through voter registration and education. This advocacy group has helped millions of American’s make their voices heard through voter outreach at public and social events across the country. Voting is a way for all of us to be included in the public discussion and for us to impart change. Our support for Headcount is part of our company’s mission to restore the health of our communities by cultivating informed and responsible voters whose shared values are reflected in the systems around us.
We also invest in groups that support social and racial justice within our industry. The Last Prisoner Project has been dedicated to redressing the continuing harms of unjust cannabis laws and policies, which disproportionately impact people of color. We support these efforts through our parent company, CannaCraft.
Now is the time to come together to make our communities happier and healthier for everyone. If you have a moments, please take some time to find out more about HeadCount or Last Prisoner Project.
Meanwhile, please stay safe and know that our heart is with you.
Here in solidarity,
Care By Design
